Manage data rules

Data rules are automated. You can set a condition for when the rule should apply, then specify the action you would like to be performed

Note: Data Rules can be applied to one or more channels.

Warning: This is an advanced automation process. It's wise to verify the application of your conditions directly in the channel where you've implemented them. Contact us if you require help.

Navigate to Website Settings > Data Rules.

Here, you can:

To add a new data rule:

  1. Click "Add Rule" and then provide a brief description of the rule. This description is for your reference only.
  2. Next, choose the channels you would like the rule to apply to. By default you should see Google, Facebook and Microsoft. Contact us if you need a rule set for a custom channel.

Once you have completed these steps, you can then add the condition on which you would like the rule to apply. You can add conditions to any attribute present in the feed, including title, description, color, and price.

Add conditions

Caution: Conditions apply only to attributes present in product data feeds sent to channels. If attributes are missing, conditions won't apply. Check your mappings in website connection settings.

To set up conditions, first identify the attributes you want to target, such as title, SKU, or price. Then, select the appropriate conditional operator for your criteria. For instance, use "contains" to filter products with specific keywords in their titles, "is in stock" to select only available items, or "greater than" for products exceeding a certain price. Apply one or more of these conditions to refine your data feed, ensuring only relevant product information is processed according to your specified rules.

Tip: You can create compound conditions using "AND". For example, the product type must "contain 'shoe'" AND the price must be "greater than $50".

Add actions

Any manual edit you make in FeedOps can be an automated action triggered by a condition. The scope of actions is limited only by your skill and imagination.
Common uses include disabling item status when a condition is met, but you can also perform actions such as:
  • Changing product types
  • Setting custom labels
  • Modifying title templates
  • Adjusting color/pattern attributes

Warning: This is an advanced automation process. It's wise to verify the application of your conditions directly in the channel where you've implemented them.
