Product data from your website comes into FeedOps by means of attribute mappings. This article will show you how to set up your attribute mappings.
What is an attribute mapping?
Product attribute mappings tell FeedOps which fields in your web store to use for each of the fields in your feed.
Auto-mapped fields
FeedOps auto-maps several fields for convenience, including:
- Color
- Brand
- GTIN
- MPN
- Shipping Weight
- Size
- Description
- Gender
- Quantity
- Price
- Sale Price
- RRP
- Item ID
- Image Link
- Material
- Title
- Condition
- Age Group
- Pattern
- Availability Date
- Google Product Category
However, any of these automatic mappings can be overridden if needed.
How to create an attribute mapping
(Please note, this option is only available on web store platforms that have an API connection.)
- Navigate in the left menu to Website settings > Connection.
- Click Configure Attribute Mappings.
- Click Add Mapping.
- Under FeedOps Field, select the field you want your data to end up in, e.g. "Custom Label 2"
- Under Source, select the web store field you want to use, e.g. "is_best_seller".
- You can repeat steps 3-5 for as many fields as you need to map.
- Click Save.
NOTE - You also have the option to create a "Static" mapping. It allows you to add a static text value (common across all your products).
For example: You can set "Gender" to "Male/Female" using a static text value and FeedOps will automatically set the text value to all your products.
The option to select and add a "Static Value" is right below the "Website Value" option when adding an attribute mapping.
The next time your feed regenerates, the mapped data will be fetched from your web store and added to FeedOps.
