Learn how to navigate the product screen, understand key functions, and manage feeds

The product screen is the central hub of FeedOps. In this help document, we aim to guide you through navigating this workspace and finding as well as optimizing products.

Note: The product screen will only be active for channels that you have either connected or enabled.

  1. Increase workspace size
  2. Use the channel selector
  3. Access the channel feed URL
  4. Adjust channel settings
  5. Add a filter
  6. Create a rule
  7. Import / Export data

How to increase workspace size

Note: that FeedOps is optimized for a laptop or desktop experience on the following browsers

  • Enlarge your workspace by collapsing the side menu. Click the hamburger menu at the top left of the browser.
  • Resize columns by dragging the edge next to the column heading to adjust the width.
Default columns are SKU and Title. Add more by clicking the column icon on the right.

How to use the channel selector

The channel selector, located at the top left side of the workspace, displays both the channel icon and name. Default channels for all plans include Google, Microsoft, and Meta. If you need additional channels, please contact us.

Selecting a channel switches the workspace to show product data as it is sent to that channel. In other words, the data visible on the product screen reflects what is fed to your chosen channel. Any modifications to the data will be updated and sent to the selected channel.

How to access the channel feed URL

At the top of the workspace, there is a Feed URL accompanied by a copy icon. Clicking this icon copies the URL to your clipboard. You can then open a new tab, paste it into the browser, and wait for the feed to download. This is useful for inspecting the entire feed and its elements. If you plan to use this feed for another channel, paste it into a document or notebook for future reference.

How to adjust channel settings

Connecting and disconnecting channels, optimizing feeds, and tagging URLs

Access channel settings directly from the product screen workspace. Click 'Settings' in the top right-hand side. You can also reach it via the left-hand side menu by selecting 'Website Settings' > 'Product Feeds.' Then, choose the channel you wish to adjust.

For detailed guidance, refer to the channel settings instruction article

How to add a filter

Refining your product view with filters

Add a filter in your product screen workspace to narrow down to specific products for focused attention. After filtering, select an item, multiple items, or all in the view to reveal the editing toolbar.

For information on using filters, see how to add a filter.

How to create a rule

Data rules enable automatic modifications to your product data through a combination of conditions and actions. Essentially, "If [conditions] are met, then [actions]" occurs. At least one action is required for a rule to function. However, without specifying any conditions, your rule will apply universally to all products. You're free to incorporate multiple conditions and actions as necessary.

For more information see Manage data rules and How to create a data rule

How to import and export data

This feature enables users to easily import data into your product feed from various sources, including CSV files and Google Sheets. Users can export a specific group of products, like those lacking GTINs, and then re-import them after filling in the missing information.

How to customize columns

Adding columns to your workspace lets you tailor your view and edit your product data feeds more effectively. To add columns, just click the "Columns" link at the top right of your product screen, then search for and browse the columns you want to add. The attributes available for columns are the same as those you can filter by when adding to rows.

You might also find instructions on using the product editor helpful.

Select one or many items to edit:

Tip: Before selecting items to edit, ensure you have filtered the rows and columns you wish to include.

At the top of the product table view, you can choose one, several, or all items displayed. Selecting these items will reveal the main feed editing toolbar, granting you access to the following features:

  • Disable or enable items (products): Disable or enable items (products)
This either allows them to be inclded or excluded from product feed and corresponding channel
  • Edit items (products):  Two common use cases demonstrating how to edit feeds. You may also find "How to use the product editor" useful

Note: Editing your product feeds is also referred to as optimizing your product feed. With FeedOps, you can customize the product data that is imported from your website before it's converted into a product feed for each channel.

  • Apply or dismiss suggestions: FeedOps uses AI to offer suggestions for product attributes, highlighted with an orange line. You can choose to apply or dismiss these suggested edits.
